As a group of ambitious University of Missouri students, we felt compelled to think big and create a product that makes a difference in the world. Under the assumption that obvious solutions can often go unnoticed for many years, we began searching for just that.

After touring a number of senior living facilities, we quickly learned that resident care quality has been strained by staffing shortages and a lack of technology integration. This would become our area to target.

We found striking peer-reviewed evidence demonstrating how tracking simple vital signs like temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen can help detect numerous major health events and diseases before symptoms occur.

Enter VitalTrack: A wearable wrist device system that tracks key vital signs, integrating into software that sends alerts via phone notification or computer to designated healthcare staff. This simple fix has the potential to substantially reduce preventable hospitalizations and the understaffing burden by allowing care to be prioritized efficiently.

VitalTrack is designed to be simple and user-friendly. Our platform’s algorithm assesses the interaction of all vital metrics to suggest the specific health events that are at risk and the possible interventions . Therefore, a staff member does not need to know every intricacy of the software. Rather, alerts will be presented only when something is wrong and will give relevant details to allow an informed decision to be made.

When organizations agree to use our product, they have the option to agree to receive alert SMS messages to a specified administrator number. Administrators will add a phone number that will be sent SMS alert messages when user data reaches emergency thresholds.
